Hi, I am trying the eval version - would like to get it working. I opened by VB project, and selected German as the 2nd language, it did the scan, found a bunch of stuff, and I went to Project ->Translate With Translation Engine. At the bottom status pane, it says Translate using translation memory Operation may take several minutes, press esc to cancel. 0 translations elapsed time 39 s There are definately things to translate, severeal forms and modules, etc. Am I missing something? Is there some other translation engine (perhaps on the internet) I need to configure? I was hoping that it would do a lot of the translation for menu items, etc. I was not able to find out what I was looking for in the help file or the FAQ forum. thanks, Ed

Do you have translations in the translation memory? By default it is empty. You have to import glossaries to the translation memory. Also make sure that take original language of your VB source (right click .vbp) in the tree matched s source language of translation memory. Select the Encoding sheet from the Visual Basic Source dialog and check the language. Jaakko

Jaakko, thanks for the reply. I am not sure if I have translations in the translation memories. How do I import glossaries? I did not see it in the help file. I would like to translate to German and French. btw, the language is correct (English) in the Project source dialog (encoding sheet). On this dialog in the Engines tab, the only enabled is the embedded transation engine. there is none on the disabled side. thanks, Ed

Hello Ed, we have an infromation how to download and use the microsoft glossaries as Background Info box on this page: http://www.sisulizer.com/switching-to-sisulizer.shtml Please be aware, that this is a lenghty process because of the pure count of the gloassary entries and languages. Markus, thanks for the reply - i downloaded the file but when i try to add it in susulizer, it is not clear how to do this in the app nor in the faq you pointed me to. In the translation Engines dialog, I go to documents tab, and then I click on the green plus sign, the instructions say to follow the wizard but there is no wizard, and in the translation engine type dropdown there is no option to select a csv file. ?? thanks dan

Hi Dan, please look again. There should be two green pluses. The description means the right one (see also the attached screenshot). Best Markus http://www.sisulizer.com Attachment: sc.jpg (Downloaded 30 times)

Hi, OK, well, it worked for single word translations, but how about translating sentences and things like this? can we use one of the machine translators on line, like altavista, to translate sentences and phrases? thanks,

Hello Ed, we do not push the MT (Machine Translation) issue to much. We want to give you a simple sample why. On our web we have that "Hello World" picture http://www.sisulizer.com/step2-translate.shtml. For our very first issue we used MT translations by some web MT (I don't want to blame a particular one here). We thought, ok, for such a simple sentence like Hello World MT must be fine. We had to correct all sentences we got from the MT after feedback from native speakers. Best Markus Kreisel http://www.sisulizer.com - Three simple steps to localize

The Microsoft link no longer exists, do you have an updated URL? Also, am I understanding that sentences will not translate? Frankly, I don't care at this point if they are correct or not since we simply want to see French, etc in the dialog, for initial testing purposes. What advice can you give me to deal with this? Don't want to have to fill the empty ones by hand :-)
