Hi, I'm a new user and I upgraded to the latest version (Version 2008, Build 287).

I'm checking a GUI translation. Some rows are marked with the lock symbol. I found in online help how to get that symbol. But I can't find any info about how to turn OFF that "Do Not Translate" property. It is grayed out on the menu. I can't change the status, either. ???

Since I'm already posting a question, let me also ask this: After I run Validate Translation, I get a nice list at the bottom with all the problems. When I click an item, it is displayed in the visual view, so I can see the context (for example the dialog) -- that's great. But now I want to get out of Validation mode and back to the complete list. I want the visual view (for example a dialog from our GUI) to be displayed with I click an item in the main list. But it won't work. The Validation section remains at the bottom, even if I drag it down. (I don't think I'm explaining myself very well....)

Yes, I can go to the left pane and click a dialog to see it -- but then the big list disappears. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hello,

Below is answer on your #1 question:
Probably you have your project switched to translate only mode.  You can change it in following way:
Go to "Project" menu > "Options…" item > "General" tab, and uncheck "Project is in a translate only mode".

YES! Thank you!

Now if anybody would like to answer my second question....

If this helps: I want to see the complete list view and the visual view of the specific dialog I'm working on, both at the same time.

Thanks

Hi,

Try View - Workspace - Split Horizontal. It has only an effect if an element has a visual component.

Best

Markus

As Markus told you can change view to horizontal layout. I’ve some additional advices related to work with Sisulizer UI.

1. Sisulizer can’t work with fully translations list (All node) and selected sub-node (e.g. dialog with visual preview) at this same time, but if you have selected some string in full translation list (All node), you can directly go to sub-node of this string (e.g. some dialog node), by right click on row in translation sheet and click on “Select node” in context menu.

2. You can find in Project tree toolbar two icons with left arrow (Back) and right arrow (Forward). These buttons allows you go to your previous selected/edited node.

3. You can open bottom panes (also Validation results) in separated window by click “Open in new window”

4. “Validation results” pane contents are still availabable even if you change bottom pane (e.g. by select “Find results) or save project. Sisulizer reset “Validation results” pane contents after, scan project, build feature using or closing project.

5. Almost all Sisulizer views, panes, lists etc. have custom context menus with many useful features, so don’t hesitate and use right mouse click in Sisulizer.

Best regards,
Janusz

Hi Janusz,

I have a comment concerning item number 2 in your suggestions. If you right-click from a string in "All node" to see the node it belongs to (step 1) and then click the back button as you suggest (step 2), you unfortunately always come back to the top of the "All node" translation list. It would be so much better if you came back to the string you originally used to access the "Select node" view. If you do this frequently, it can be time consuming to find your place in the list again every time. Definitely something to put on the wish list IMHO.

Thanks,

Allen

It was implemented to build 290.
