Hi,
We've recently started working with Struts 2.0. With this framework, there is an issue with single quotes: you need to double them to get them displayed in the final page (usually, an HTML page, but it doesn't depend on the target).

You can read the following article on the subject:
http://schneide.wordpress.com/2009/05/18/the-perils-of-u0027/

This did not happen with Struts 1.0, which was showing single quotes, when stored as \' in the .properties file.

So my question is: is there a way in Sisulizer to manage that constraint of doubling the single quotes in .properties files used for Struts 2.0?

Never mind if there is no way, but I'd like to be sure I didn't miss an option somewhere...

Best regards,
Olivier.

Hi,

You mean a way to say: Single quotes in the source become double quotes in the target?

Actually we are pretty happy if single quotes stay single and double double in (hopefully) all formats and platforms.

There was no request so far to change the quotes (in contrast to complains where this failed in the past ;-) ). At least I don't know that feature... But I think you already expected/feared that.

Hope this nevertheless helped

Renate

I meant that for strings used with Struts 2.0, you need to write
mytext.mystringID This can''t work if you don''t double single quotes!

And that will be displayed as
This can't work if you don't double single quotes!
