Hi, regarding the speed... Basically it is just a pointer to a resource table in some other file. If you use the standard resouce methods from VCL it should not matter. Perhaps you should check if there is something in your code different in the French edition. Perhaps you calculate something (units, text lenghts, ...) that causes some refresh loop (just wild guessing...) Markus

no not really it is offcourse more noticable with forms with a lot of components like our settings form.... nothing special is done when running in another language... i'll try to time it is the size of the resource file important? i guess not since it is all loaded in memory i presume...
