My question is, how to deal with the "TRUE" or "FALSE" entries in the "Original" column? What does it stand for and does it have to be I translated? Or should I copy the original or leave it out?

Those boolean values are for Visible properties of different controls. You can hide a control if you translate Visible to False. In most cases there are no need to translate Visible properties.

You can remove those rows right clicking the source and choosing "Properties...".

From Options tab uncheck "Scan visible property"

If you choose to keep visible properties just leave them untranslated. But in my opinion the less rows you have on the project the better it is.

I've tried the solution recommended of unchecking "scan visible property" from the Options tab, but it doesn't do anything. I also tried closing and reloading the project.

Has anyone else gotten this to work on 1.5.5 or 1.5.6?

You have to rescan after that. Choose Project | Scan for Changes.

Sisulizer should have shown a dialog box telling that rescan is needed but it did not. I fixed this to 1.5.7
