Hi, I have a problem with a build of a txt file. Strange characters are being placed in the output file. I will enclose the input and output files. Look at the line that starts with "43" and see the odd character at the end. I don't have an example, but while coders check, some lines would have an extra " at the end as well in some other files (sorry I had to fix them manually to move on my work :-)

Thank you for the sample files. I could see that several lines in the French file were corrupted or invalid. Then I tried to repduce this with you project file. However the French your file that Sisulizer created were correct. The French lin starting with "43" is different to the value in your project file. It seems that the French file you set is much older than the original English. Create localized files agan and check if the French file is valid. Anyway I try to figure out why the French file got corrupted. What is your operating system? Jaakko

I know - I had to make some fixes in the slp file so I could get my work done. I am sorry that I couldn't give you more files that correspond better. I have to rebuild again next week so I will check and see what happens and if I can upload more current files that exhibit the problem. AS a couple of clues, the input files some times had the text stings surrounded by " (double quote) since Excel would put them out that way. The original text was from Excel files exported as delimited text.I noticed also that if the text so happened to contain a single quote, then it may cause the line to be wrong as well. To answer your question, XP Pro SP3, American English. Thanks!

I did a rebuild and did not find any problem. Not sure if it's the new version, my corrections, or what, but thanks for the help anyway.
