Hi,

I am trying to do the "country"-sample for the oracle database localization and I have a freeze issue. Here's what I do.

1) run the country.sql script on an oracle 10g database

2) Launch Sisulizer, rev307

3) New Project, in the wizard, select "localize database data"

4) Do settings like in the screenshot, klick Connect, everything looks fine

5) Click next

=> Sisulizer freezes

Any idea?

I am using a Windows7 workstation without any Oracle client installed.

Thanks, Daniel

Have you tried to use the IP number of the server instead of the server name in server address?

Somehow the connection gets lost. What you see is a timeout while waiting for the server to response to your request.

Markus

Hi Markus,

If I enter the IP address, I get an error exception. I have uploaded the rar-dump file using the "private upload" feature.

Thanks, Daniel

Any idea on this problem? I guess the exception should not appear.

Additional info: I don't have any oracle client software installed and I am assuming that Sisulizer is doing a direct connect (otherwise there would be some TNS-Names etc in the Oracle sheet). Is that correct?

Any help is welcome, thanks!
Daniel

Sorry, i found out the reason for the exception:
If I leave the "database name" field blank and click on CONNECT I get the exception "Invalid SID".
As soon as I enter the database-name (SID) I can connect and click NEXT.... and run into the freeze problem

So: "exception"-issue solved, please forget about my private upload (or for cosmetics make a user-friendlier message), but please help me with the freeze-issue.

Thanks! Daniel

Yes, bug message was about invalid SID. I glad you solved your issue.

Best regards,
Jansz

I will check this. What is your database version?

Jaakko

it's a Oracle 10g.
product_component_version says: 10.2.0.3.0

Thanks, Daniel
