Hi !
While I have started a translation about a big project I got this error-message.
I have marked all strings from project and choosed "get translation from translation engine"
We´re using an interbase database for our dictonary.
After about 60% this messages appeared. After I had clicked OK the translating continues. Is there a failure in our strings ?
What has happened ?
Is there a way to fix this error in the database ?

Thank you
Björn

That error is an error that occurend when Sisulizer read the database. You use Interbase, right?

Can you email the database (.gdb) and Sisulizer project file (.slp) that you translated to me

What is your Interbase version?

I have had very hard time to get Firebird working. Can you help me a little bit

1) Is is compatible to Interbase. We use Interbase data access component to access interbase. I am not sure if it works with Firebird

2) What is the IP socket that Firebird listens.

3) I have Interbase 2007 and Firebird 2.0 installed on the same computer. IB works just fine but Firebird does not.

I figured out the port number and also found out that IB and firebird server can not be running at the same time.

We have never tested Sisulizer with Firebird, only with Interbase. Sisulizer documentation also tells that it is suppoed to work with Interbase, no mention about Firebird. However I start testing it. It might take from few days to week or two.

Unfortunately the Interbase access component that we use does not support Firebird. This is why Sisulizer's translation memory can not exist on Firebird server. Only Interbase is supported.

I updates the Interbase access control and now it should work with Firebird. However I need few days to test it thorougly. Firebird is a bit different than Interbase. The good thing is thet the maximum index size is much higher (252 vs. 1000) so Firebird can store longer strings.

I let you know when my tests are finished.

I checked the database that you sent me and found that it has defauld character encoding set to ISO Latin. This causes the error. Sisulizer stores the string in UTF-8 and Firebird tries to interpret the string as ISO latin and that fails.

When you create an Interbase or Firebird database for Sisulizer's translation memory the character set must be set to none.

Also you have to wait for the 1.6.5 that has support for Firebird databases. The new build will come out tomorrow.

In 1.6.5 Interbase and Firebird are two different databases. You have to add a new Firebird database into Sisulizer from Tools | Translation Engines.

The advantage is that now the maximum string length for Firebird is 748 when with Interbase it is 136.
