Hi there.

We decided to do our Help-Translation with Sisulizer for the first time now.

First of all...it would be great if there would be somethink like a RTF-Import from old WinHelp-Files. This would make work much faster.

But anyway, we have started to copy the text out of the RTF into sisulizer by Drag'n'drop.
After the first page we stopped to have a test about the quality.
The built CHM file looks allright but we have some problems to save our translations into our Firebird Database.
Till now we have translated 17 strings, but it looks like Sisu only writes 3 of them into Database.
Furthermore we have some problems if the original german string includes a special sign, an umlaut, like "ö". In the original HTML-file this "Ö" is written as "ö"
The sign is shown correctly in Sisulizer. But if we load a translation for a word with "ö" the translation gets a "&" added.
For example:
German word/name "Björn" is translated with "Bjoern"
After saving into database and loading from database it gets translated with "Bj&oern"

Do you have an idea for these problems ?

And one last further whish...
If you do a translation by typing in the text, Sisulizer provides you the required HTML Tags. But if you enter the translation by drag'n'drop and paste it into translation field, you won´t get the HTML tags automaticly.

Thank you for your help and I hope you have some answers for us !

Best regards
Björn Staack

We have found some more problems according the placement of the "&" sign. It seems that there is a general problem with special characters. For example ">" for "

The requested file was sent.
I hope it helps you to find the error. Do you need the HTML-files too ?

Please find attached a further problem.
Somehow is an "ü" missing or set but not entered...

I´m sorry for these curious problems.

Whatdo you mean by "if we load a translation for a word with "ö"". Do you import it from a file using File | Import or do you copy paste it from another software or do you use translation memory (Column | Translate Using Translation Engine.

I looked your project file and it did not contain any invalid character. All German words looked normal German and Czech words normal Czech.

This I donät quite understand either. What do you do? Do you translate Björn to Bjoern (Czech translation). Then you save the project to translation memory. After that you clear the translation and choose Column | Translate using Translation Engines and the result is that the Czech value will be Bj&oern.

Is this right? If not please tell in detail what you do?

According your first question...
- the problems appears by choosing (Column | Translate Using Translation Engine)
According to the second...
- you´re right. The Bjoern becomes Bj&oern by getting translation from Engine

In our project you´ll find "erstlesen.htm" in Project-tree.
For example the second sentence (German) "Um bestmögliche Informationen aus einem..." shows the error in the translation (Czech) "Pr&o získání co nejlepších informací..."

Do you need some more information according our database ?

This problem appears independent from the selected translation engine. It appears with our Firebird database as well as with the embedded database.

Hi Björn

There was a bug. it occurend when Keep format option was turned on and text contain escaped text like ö (ö). In that case Sisulizer entered wrong text to translation memory. I will fix this in next build.

Hi Björn,

the next build is V2008. It is to be released next Monday. In case this is to far away for you I moved your account to the beta group. If you re-login you will see the new section in the forum. There you get the info in the first post how to download it.

Best

Markus
