A word in a string is underlined in red. From the context menu I select "Add to dictionary". => The word is not underlined in red anymore. I leave the cell with the mouse. => Again, the word is underlined in red. => The linked lex file is not updated (the modified date does not change). I linked the SpellUS.lex to English (no sublanguage) language in my project (you already have it: CP05.slp). Best regards, Christine

Hi, I tried with your files and could not re-produce - while I know the bug from an older build. The files I have from you are saved with 266. Can you please make sure that you use build 268. There was some problem that seems to be fixed in the current build that is not listed in history.txt. Best Markus

HI, Christine is right. I wrote to Jaska about this issue during beta tests, but unfortunately, issue still occurred in latest (268) build on my PC (Windows XP). I have tested it with all possible spell checker settings available in SL. Passolo 6 has included also Polar spell checking online version, and in Passolo occurred identical issue (I don’t know how it work in latest Passolo 7 version), and for this reason, I used with Passolo second embedded to Passolo spell checker (MS Word spell checker). Because this same issue occurred in two different localization software, with this same third part spell checker, it seems to me, that problem is concerned to Polar spell checker and OS, not to SL, but maybe I mistaken. Best regards, Janusz

Hi Janusz, do you perhaps have some reproducable small sample. With Christine's files I can not reproduce. It might be that the bug is related to some words only and not to others. We have to find the schema. Markus

Hmm… I have downloaded and installed Hunspell spell checker, and unfortunately after choosing “Ignore all”, “Ignore” and “Add to dictionary” items are still underlined. I noticed that items added to custom dictionary (Polar and Hunspell spell checkers) are visible in context menu, but after select it, strings are still underlined. I tested behavior of spell checker with English language (original language of my projects), and with English version of Polar spell checker dictionary options “Add to dictionary”, “Ignore all” and “Ignore” working correctly! Maybe issue is concerned to some (dictionaries) languages?
Yes, of course, I can to send some of my Sisulizer projects, but you can to test Polish language in the Sisulizer.slp. What do you think about it? I will be to continue my short investigation, and of course I will let you know about results. Best, Janusz

Next test: I have added to one of my projects English language as new translation (English is also original language of this project), and next I used “Add to dictionary”, “Ignore all”, “Ignore” for this same underlined English word both in original and translation columns. After using above mentioned options, word in original column has been begun displayed correctly, but unfortunately in translation column this same word is still underlined. Hi, I found reason of this issue. I tried add underlined words to dictionary when sheet translation cell was in "edit mode" (all spelling options for incorrectly words are visible in context menu in edit mode), and after exit from translation cell, words added to dictionary or ignored words were reverted to underlined state, but when I have added incorrectly words to dictionary via context menu, when cell was ONLY selected NOT edited all spelling context menu options working correctly. For this reason, these options always working correctly with original, because original column is "read only". Probably Christine tried to add words to dictionary during edit contents of translation. Best regards, Janusz

Hello,It might be that the bug is related to some words only and not to others. We have to find the schema. Yes, you are right. SL has problems with adding some words to dictionary, and below is one example from Polish language. Polar Spell Checker recognizes Polish word “zaloguj” (“Login” in English) as incorrectly word. But in my project this word occur as “zaloguj” and “Zaloguj” (as standalone string, or first word of sentence), and after adding to dictionary both words (with lower and upper case) all these words are visible as correctly items, but after SL restart all words “zaloguj” are again underlined, and SL suggest (via context menu) only word “Zaloguj”. It seems to me, that SL has problem with adding to dictionary identical words, but with different case. I have tested this issue with several Polish words and projects, and unfortunately, results are always the same. You can to test it with Polish version of the Sisulizer.slp. After select Polish language, you will search Polish words “by” and “By” or “Dane” and “dane”, and than you will try add these words to dictionary. Best regards, Janusz

Hi Janusz, that might be a very important hint to track this down. It might work 100 times in a row without a poblem and fails for the 101th. With your hint we might now have something reproducable. Many thanks Markus

During tests of adding to dictionary feature I encountered unexpected error (List index out of bounds). Error occurred after following operation sequence: 1. Using “Add”, “Ignore”, “Ignore all” options for word with incorrectly spelling 2. Edit this same word in translation cell, immediately after spell checking operations mentioned above. Above operations not always end with error, but I reproduced error several times with different strings and projects on two PC with different OS (Win XP and Win 2000). I sent email with bug reports (Win XP, Win 2000) as attachments to SL support. I hope that full call stacks in bug reports help you to find solution for this issue. Best regards, Janusz

Problem with lower and upper case was fixed in build 269. Christine, let me know if in your projects issue with underlined words after adding to dictionary still occurs. Best, Janusz

Dear Janusz, the problem still occurs in build 269. It is strange though, it works for some words, but not for others. Examples: ColorProof, GmbH, PhotoBlack. Best regards, Christine

Thank you for found it. You are right, Sisulizer can't to add to dictionary words with mixed case, that is words with upper case characters inside words. During my tests I tried add sample word "aAaA" to dictionary, and as it turned out Sisulizer still underline this word, but this same word "aaaa" in lower case, after adding "aAaA" to directory is recognized by Sisulizer as correctly word (not underlined). Sisulizer treat "aaaa" as correctly word because is added to dictionary, however Sisulizer treat upper case inside word as mistake. Best regards, Janusz

In my opinion "Add to dictionary" working correctly, because adding to dictionary is not case sensitive. It seems to me that also underlined words with upper case characters inside word is normal behavior, because mixed case could be mistake e.g. in fiLe or StatUs, but we will think over your issue. Instead "Add to dictionary" you can use "Ignore all" feature (it working with words such as GmbH, ColorProf etc.) for words with mixed cases. Best, janusz
