Hello,

I really dont know whether or not this is expected, but when I save my project in Sisu it takes 12 minutes to complete the task. Sisu is pretty much the only program running and occupies 300MB of RAM.

It contains references to 19 csproj files and all our cs files. The total string count is just above 37000, and the slp file is 26MB.

Is 12 minutes an expected time to complete the save operation?
Even when I remove the cs files, thus reducing the number of strings down to just 10000 and the slp to 4MB or so - it still takes 9minutes to save ...

It feels rather long ...

Thanks,
Stephan

Hi,

do you have many pictures in your project?

If yes try to exclude them with Project - Edit Source - <your source> - Excluded types (You can also use Tools - General Settings - Excluded Data Types if you want to exclude them globally).

How much memory does your computer have. 2GB is recommended for fast operation of larger projects.

If that does not help please send you .SLP to support (at) sisulizer.fi and we give it a speed test here.

Markus

I have excluded these types globally, which brought the time down to 11minutes. Not a huge save.

I have send you the slp file.

Maybe this is just how long it takes.

Thanks for all your help
Stephan

Hi Stephan,

No, that is not the way it should be. There seems to be a bottleneck.

Saving is fast until ~95% of the file. Than it is at 95% for a long time (approx 16 minutes on my system). I'll forward that to R&D for analysis.

Markus

I’ve got identical result on my PC, that is, to 95% operation was fast, but whole operation take on my system ~6 minutes, and I Markus told it probably is result of any bottleneck. I performed saving operation on very fast PC.

Loading takes just 20s.

I would expect that saving should not take more than 2-3 minutes.

Thats good to hear. I am curious what the outcome will be. When I added all the csproj files, I noticed that it was one particular csproj that caused it to be slow: the project called ObjectRepository. Maybe this helps.

Thank you. I’ve already found it, this csproj node contains sub-node com.d11s.Foundation.ObjectRepository.Objects.UsersAndGroups.PasswordResources with two very long rows: AmericanDictionary and BritishDictionary, and those 2 rows hang up Sisulizer during saving. We let you know about fixing it.
