Dear Sisulizer team,
When using Sisulizer, I am a bit confused about the build options :
  • Menu Project | Build item F6 builds all files under the All root item, for the currently selected language, regardless of the selected item in the tree
  • Menu Project | Build all CTRL+F6 builds all files for all languages
  • Contextual menu Build item on the right-click over a file of the tree builds only that file, for the currently selected language
  • F6 pressed when a file is selected builds all files for the currently selected language (consistent with the menu)
  • There is no Build menu on the contextual menu (right-click) over the All root item
Finally, there is no option to build a given single file of the tree for all languages.

Would it be possible to make all these options a bit more consistent in a future version? Something like
  • F6 / Build item builds the currently selected file for the current language, and builds all files for the current language if the selected item is All;
  • CTRL+F6 / Build all builds all languages for the selected item, and for all files if the selected item is All;
  • both Build item and Build all shown in contextual menus, over selected files, but also over the All item.
Best regards,
Olivier.

Hello Olivier,

Currently we have internal discussion about your idea and probably in near future our R&D will change UI items related to build feature.

I totally agree with oliver, the UI for building are confusing to say the least.

Hello,

From build 286, Sisulizer has changed UI items related to build feature:

Project menu:
"Build in Selected Language"- you can select in sub-menu source for build output file in currently edited language
"Build All Sources in Selected Language"
"Build All Sources in All Languages"
"Build…" – it opens dialog window where you can select desired languages for build feature

Project tree (source item) context menu:
"Build in Selected Language" – of course, without sub-menu
"Build in All Languages" – it build output files in all language for selected source.

Below is screenshot from Project menu:

Great, this helps a lot in clarifying what you are actually building.

Great! It is indeed much clearer now, and I appreciate the right click menus on the All root item :)

Thanks,
Olivier.
