I’ve several suggestions about new features and improvements for existing features of the Sisulizer. All my requested features are listed below:

  1. Search feature – In the Alchemy Catalyst all results for search term are displayed at once in special panel, and user can select needed strings without pass all results. I think that is very useful feature, and can be implemented to Sisulizer in following way – new button “Show all” in the Find text dialog, and new panel “search results” on the bottom of the Sisulizer main window.
  2. Highlighting for identical strings in the original language and localized language columns, for example by colorized row in thy original language column. This feature will be useful for quickly locate copied original strings to localized column.
  3. Customize shortcuts option for the Sisulizer application (e.g. new tab in the General settings window), because some shortcuts can be conflict with other software or way of the typing special language characters in some languages, for example in the Polish language alt + c.
  4. Feature “Save to Translation Memory” (Menu File) saves all available languages in the project, for example for the Sisulizer project feature “Save to Translation Memory” saving following language pair: English – German, English – Finnish, English – French, English – Japanese, English – Russian, English – Polish, but for me is useful only English – Polish pair, and option for selection only one languages pair can reduce saving time to the Translation Memory. Do you think about adding new item “Save selected language to TM” to File menu?
  5. Translation memory management in the Alchemy Catalyst and the Multilizer contains “Fuzzy translation” feature. Do you think about this feature?
  6. Spell checking in online mode like in the Passolo or Alchemy Catalyst with options for manage custom directory (Ignore, Ignore once, Adding new word etc.)
  7. Multi-clipboard feature (like e.g. in the Microsoft Office). I use ClipMate Extender 7 application, and I think multi-clipboard is very useful feature for translating job, but not all users use multi-clipboard software. Additional any other localization tool not offer this interesting feature.
  8. Support for the help files (CHM). Help files are integral parts of the software, and adding support for CHM to the Sisulizer make possible localization whole elements of localized software without using others tools like Help & Manual or FAR HTML.
  9. Full support for PO files, because now Sisulizer support only POT files without PO files. Unfortunately developers of software often send to translators only PO files. Now for PO files I am using freeware poEdit or Passolo.
  10. Do you think about split INI files sections (if available) to separated nodes in tree view (and sheet)? With this feature working with INI files will be more comfortable and easy.
  11. Support for .ntv and .lng pair. Some developers are using this method for release localization resources to translators, for example Hot Dog Professional or TreeDBNotes. Now for NTV files I am using freeware Korzh Language Manager
Best wishes for Markus and Jaakko

    Hello Ikka,

Thank you for your reply. I have two suggestion yet.
    1. After start of the Sisulzer is opening window with list contains all recently opened projects. Sometimes for convenience will be better reduce this list. Do you think about adding option for removing selected project from list, for example by small icon in left top corner alongside icons for Open project and New project.
    2. I often translate HTML files (websites or chm files) to Polish but developers not always agree whit changes character set from ISO-8859-1 or Windows 1252 to supported Polish special characters ISO-8859-2 or Windows 1250. For this reason I always exchange Polish special characters with its numerical entities, for example ć or ę. I think that option for conversion special language characters to numerical entities in the Sisulizer HTML Editor will be very useful feature for all translators from countries outside West Europe and USA.
    Best regards
    Janusz

    Hi Janusz

You can remove items from the recent list by right clicking on the item and choosing Remove from the list (removes from the list) or Delete (removes from the list and deletes the SLP)

About HTML files. By default SL create UTF-8 encoded HTML file when it creates the localized items. It also adds the encoding metatag. I think that when the create file is UTF-8 there is not need to encode characters above ASCII.

Thank you for interesting my suggestions about new features for the Sisulizer.

About removing items from recently opened projects:
    -  Excuse me Jaakko, but I noticed context menu for the list recently opened projects after your reply to my post.

    About numerical entities:
    - Yes, I know Sisulizer create HTML files encoded in UTF-8. I prefer also creation websites in this format, but some developers don’t want change encoding their websites or CHM files, and I think about exchange characters to numerical entities only for these cases.

    About ntv.lng files:
     -  I translated several applications with this format, but I cant, find many information in Internet about this idea. I think that is own Korzh translation format for VCL applications. Korzh Language manager is freeware software, and for this reason translation format *.ntv.lng - *(language code).lng is popular for software created in Delphi . Below are links with short information about Korzh software:

    About numerical entities:
Is you idea this. If the user select either ISO or Ansi encoded output files then where would be option that foces all above ASCII charcter written as encoded number instead of actual characters. Like all unlauts (ä) would be encoded but (a) would not be.

    About ntv.lng files:
This seems to be totally Korzh's propiertary file format. Do they have any tool that would export that data to a standard file format.

What is exactly your need. Do you want to import existing data to Sisulizer project?

    Jaakko

Korzh Language Manager has feature for export resources to csv or xml. Yes, you right about numerical entities in the ftml files. I think, two points (ntv.lng and numerical entities) is not special important for me, just because  I forget about numerical entities in my first post and placed ntv.lng in last point of my post. I think more important are all features  described at points 1-10, and I am content, that you interest these points.

    Best regards

    Janusz

    Hello

I've still one idea about HTML Editor. Do you think about option for preview results in the default or  selected by user Internet browser?

What do you mean? Now when you press Run button Sisulizer will show HTML file on the default browser. Do you mean a feature that show all the possible browsers and the user can select what to use?

    Hello,

Excuse me my vague wording of a question – I was very tired after effort work in my company. I wanted to present proposal for adding option (for example to HTML source  properties in the tree view) for select another Internet browser than default – in this way user can tests behavior web sites with other Internet browser than default after press Run button. For example I am using IE with Microsoft Java (default browser) and  Opera with Sun Java -  two Internet browsers with different Java VM allow me testing websites with JavaScripts in two different environments.

Thank you for information about bugs fixing in the Sisulizer GUI

    Best regards

    Janusz

    Hello friends,

I’ve several new proposals about features for next version of the SL.These required features concern mainly
to GUI of the SL, are not very important, but can improve working with the Sisulizer.

    1.  Search options:
         -    option for ignore hotkey ampersands characters - &
         -    option for include/exclude subfolders (for example during localization HTML folders)
         -    option for using regular expression.

    2.  Sometimes highlighting of selected node not working correctly, or node is out of tree pane. Do you think about
option for displaying node name or pathname in the status bar?

    3.  Displaying of number currently saved translation to the TM (for example in the bottom of the Language pair
section in the Information tab of the TM).

    4.  Source HTML properties:
         -    option for scan css files
         -    option for copying css files
Above options can to allow displaying almost original layout of HTML file in the visual editor and during execute
Run localized option, without manual copying these files to localized folder.

    5.  New elements of the HTML files to localization:
Possibility localization contents of Meta Description tag and Meta keywords tag (for example by adding new
attributes to the Attributes tab). Meta keywords and Meta Description tags are very important elements of the
websites, because contents of the Meta Descriptions are displaying in main window search results of the
search engines (e.g. Google). Meta Keywords contain important search terms for the owner of the website.
Additional both tags are important for search engine rankings.

    Best regards
    Janusz

1-3, 4 (copy only) and 5 will be implemented to the next build (1.1.22)

Scanning of 4 in the near future

    best regards,
    Ilkka

I’ve next idea: Sometimes, I need quick to edit source file, for example, if occurred error in INI file (e.g. missing ] character), or when I would like to change HTML source code. I use  for these actions the UltraEdit and the Macromedia Dreamweaver, and quick access directly from main window of the Sisulizer to these programs will be very comfortable for me. The Sisiulizer allow to open INI file in associated editor (in Windows default Editor is the Notepad), but I think rather about more customizable options (choosing other editor than default, and possibility opening other files type than INI), and more easy access (from main window of the Sisulizer). Do you think about adding possibility for opening source file with selected by user external editor (text editor, html editor or binary editor) directly from Sisulizer?
I invent following way of implementation this feature to user interface of the Sisulizer: adding item for opening file in external editor to tree view toolbar or source context menu, and adding option for choosing pathname to external editor to source properties dialog window.

    Best regards

    Janusz
