Currently Sisu writes new positions/sizes IN PIXELS to the slp file when translators move around controls.

When the developer moves around the items on a form this causes weird effects (see the post above).

I have no idea how hard it would be to implement something like this as an alternative to pixels, but I think it would help if you do something like this.

When scanning an exe, sisu tries to make "connections" between controls. For example, Sisu notices that this form:

Enter your name: [edit box]

the edit box is "connected" to the label. This connection is of type "to the right side of". Or perhaps "x pixels to the right side of".

So now when my translator translates the string "Enter your name:" to "Enter Ihhhhhhhhreeeeeee name: ", the edit box automatically "moves".
No positions are written to the SLP file.

When I (the developer) later decide to completely rearrange the dialog, for example move those 2 items 50 pixels lower, the German translation is auto-moved with it (because it doesnt have position info inside the SLP).

------ slightly different implementation -----

Let the developer create VERTICAL rulers (a bit like tab stops in word processors). So the original English version is

Name:   [edit box]
Email:  [edit box]

(i hope this shows correct, both "[" should be perfectly aligned).
Now the developer has a way to say to Sisu, the "[" are on vertical ruler "1" (at pixel position 250).
Now the German translator only needs to adjust the position of this vertical ruler to make room for his translations.
