Catalyst Translation Alignment creates a Translation Memory from existing translated materials. Alignment determines which parts of the source and target language files belong together, and puts them side by side forming high quality translation segments.

How can I do that in sisulizer? I do need this function because some software update very frequently.

Hi,

why don't you use Project -> Scan for Changes?

Sisulizer will re-use all existing translations automatically. There is no need for some manual process or detour with translation memory like in Catalyst. See also our movie: http://www.sisulizer.com/swf/sisulizer-scanforchanges.shtml

Don't make your life harder than needed.

Our slogan is: Three simple steps to localize so we tried to make everything simpler and easier in Sisulizer. We know that customers who used some other tool before are sometimes searching for the detours like alignment and leverage in Sisulizer.

Alignment is an invention of the classic translation business where no context exists. In this business it makes sense to store all translations in external translation memories and re-use them on base of the value of the original strings.

But in software localization there is a context. And it is much better and it is important to use. The best way to store translations in software localization is in the application itself. So if you think in classical translation terms then you have to think of the previous version of your application as your luxury translation memory. Already perfectly aligned. Your previous application comes with all translations stored with complete context information. This is software localization as we think it should be :-)

Best

Markus
