I've been using SL for a short period of time and am generally happy with it. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of more or less serious bugs. I have discovered about 10 myself in roughly a month. Therefore I urge you to test the next major release very thorougly before releasing it. That will save both you and your customers a lot of time.

Maybe it is a good idea to put out a public beta for download?

Regards
Fredrik

Hi Frede,

we already work hard on this. E.g. the next build 1.6.14 is given more
time for tests. But this also means that customers waiting for fixes
have to wait longer and keep asking for the new build. We try to find
some way in the middle: quick fixes and also more tests.

We already have a beta section with beta testers. We hope our testers
would report more problems before the official build and not after.

And you should not forget that software localization particially has
to deal with undocumented file formats our developers have to examine
themself. So we have to adapt to the formats and variations all the
time.

Best

Markus

P.S. Sorry for the delay. We have a holiday here :-)

Is it possible to sign up for the beta test?

It is very positive that you are responsive to customer requests and include that in builds etc. but I think this should not be allowed to compromise the quality of the product.

Hi Frede,

the beta program focuses mainly on tests for the new WPF, XAML and Silverlight features but of course active beta testers are always highly welcome. You are already providing a lot of good feedback so I think our developers would like to welcome you in our beta section of the forum.

Best

Markus
