Hello,
My developer lately provided me one new DLL file with embedded HTML, but contents of HTML resource isn't typical HTML structure, and is rather XML resource. SL can correctly recognize 90% of all translatable strings included to this XML resources, but some strings are untranslatable, because some translatable strings are inside "<>" brackets, and probably SL recognize these strings as (untranslatable) tags, and I need translate this strings manually without SL. My developer use Passolo for localization, and Passolo also can't extract strings from tag attributes. During our discussion he told me: "Passolo guys are very inflexible I don't think they will change this very soon or at all.". I am in turn replied that Sisulizer has excellent support, and if improving feature scanning of translatable resources inside tags attributes will be possible, you will implement this feature as soon as possible.
Below is screenshot of example XML file extracted from binary (DLL) resource with untranslatable items, all strings after "Title" attribute should be translated.
BTW:
If you interest this issue I could to send for you appropriate resources (DLL or DLL and project)
Best regards,
Janusz

Hi Janusz,

Thank you for the files. I got your point. We have such a feature in .NET localization. I will implement similar feature for WIN32 binary localization as well.

Jaakko

I implemented this in 1.6.22. If the data in the HTML resource contains HTML data it is handles as HTML (as now). If data contains XML data it is handles as XML and you can select the elements that you want to localize.

Hello,
Jaakko, thank you very much! Now I can to translate all necessary strings, because after update to version 1.6.22 all these strings are visible in the Sisulizer. I informed about it software developer and he told: "Ah great news. There will be a lot of xml based dialog resources in the future (XAML etc). So having a tool which can correctly segment the XML files is a big plus:)".
Best regards,
Janusz
