We experienced several problems with spell checking:

1. Using the default Polar French spell checker:
All words preceded by an elided article (l', d', ...) are red underlined.

Example:
"action" > OK
"l'action" > red underlined but the typography is right (no space between "l'" and "action").

2. Using  the French OpenOffice OXT file:
All accentuaded words are red underlined. I think the problem comes from the encoding (see context menu in attached file).
I tried to change the encoding in SL and/or in the DIC file and/or in the AFF file : same (incorrect) result.

We use UTF-8 encoding everywhere in SL.

3. Right-clicking a red underlined word sometimes crashes SL. This is not systematic. I'll send the crash report the next time it occurs.

4. Right-clicking a red underlined word in the Original column displays the option "Send spelling error to the author of the file..." in the context menu. Clicking this (very useful) option does nothing. Where can I define the author for each file ?

Sisulizer 2010 build 307, but these problems 1,2 and 3 above are not new.

You are right, 1 and 2 are known issues and I'll remind our R&D of this. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce 3 issue.

Best regards,
Janusz

1. I could not reproduce this error with Polar. Are you using the standard French dictionary that comes with Sisulizer?

2. Here was a bug. Sisulizer did not supporrt UTF-8 encoded Hunspell dictionaries. I fixed this in build 308.

3. Could not reproduce.

4. Sisulizer uses mailto: shell command. If the project does not contains email Sisulizer added an empty email parameter. This works with MS email clients but fails with other. Starting from build 308 Sisulizer adds a dummy email address (write.here_(at)_real.email.address). This should fix the problem.

Point 1: I use the standard French dictionary that comes with Sisulizer.

See bitmap: "l'heure" is underlined. The suggestion "l' heure" (with a blank space) is typographically not correct... and other suggestions don't contains blank spaces !

I reproduced this. Unfortunately the error is in Polar spell checker. We can not change it. Polar is an old product and it is not updated any more.

I suggest you to use OpenOffice/Hunspell dictionary but you have to wait for build 308 in order to proprly use UTF-8 encoded French Hunspell dictionary.

OK for the spell checkers (I wait for build 308).

Regarding point 4 (mailto):

I use Thunderbird (latest version) as email client.
I added an email address to the SL project (Project Options dialog, Summary tab), saved the project and restarted SL. Nothing still happens when trying to "Send the spelling error to the author of the file...".

Hi,

I use also Thunderbird and I can verify the problem.
Do you by any chance also use Windows 7 64-Bit?

Markus

It was not the missing email but the string in mailto exceeded the maximum length. It is now shorter and works also with Thunderbird
