Dear support staff,

Someone wants to translate strings from English to Swedish for us, so I send him our .slp file.

His reaction is the following:

"when using the Sisulizer software it is very unresponsive. It takes very long to move between items and I spend a lot of time just waiting.

I have tested it on both a Win XP and a Win 7 computer and the result is almost the same, maybe a little bit better on Win7. However, it is still painfully slow. The version of Sisulizer is 3.0.329. i.e. the latest one.

Are there any settings that need to be fine tuned or something similar that I have missed?"

I did not have these problems on my computer, nor on the computer of my collegue, so I cannot reproduce it.

Can you help us on this?

Best regards,

Ninke

If your SLP works well on two different machines, so issue reported by your translator is probably related only to his machine/OS. Because I don't know his machine so I can't devise detailed advices for him. However, he should try following tests:
  • Close all third party software on his machine (also security software).
  • If he use network drive, he should move SLP to local drive.
BTW:
If you want, you could upload your SLP to us via Private Upload feature. I'll check behavior of this project on my machine.

Best regards,
Janusz

Do you have very long strings in your project. We recently found out that if projects contains very long string is slows down Sisulizer. We have fixed this and it will be in the next build (330) that will come out in foew days.

Ilkka

Thanks for your quick replies!
Tomorrow I can let you know if the suggestions help us out.

I uploaded the .slp file as well, so that you can have a look. I don't think the 'long strings' problem is the case, because I didn't notice the performance problems myself.

Best regards,
Ninke

Unfortunately, I can't download your SLP. Could you upload it again, but as ZIP archive?

Best regards,
Janusz

Do you have any news about this performance problem? Our Swedish contact tells us: “I opened the project on the same Win 7 computer over the weekend and all of a sudden it worked OK. This morning I also tried it again on the XP computer, but in this case it is still very slow.”

Do you have any ideas?
