Hi,

the software crashes when I want to import a html file with an addthis button included.
Just check it out with any html file and you will not be able to import it without problems:
<script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {ui_header_color: "#323c46", ui_header_background: "#e5e5e5", services_exclude: 'print', data_track_clickback:true};</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-4d91abbc76ae005d"></script>

Looking forward for help,
Hajo

Hello Hajo,

the software crashes when I want to import a html file
What do you mean by import - adding this HTML to Sisulizer project or import translations from already localized HTML file?

Just check it out with any html file and you will not be able to import it without problems
I added this script to my HTML sample file and SIsulizer correctly scanned (without crashes) file. Could you upload to us your HTML file with this script?

Best regards,
Janusz

Thanks for file. It still works well on my PC (no errors or crashes). Could you check if your HTML file isn't opened/locked by other application when you add this file to Sisulizer project?
BTW:
What Sisulizer build you use?

Best regards,
Janusz

Dear Janusz,

I made some more tests, it's definetely not working.
The file is not blocked from another application. When I delete the JS of the Addthis-Button, it's working fine.

When I wait a few minutes, the source file is being imported. When I click on another source file and then back to that one, it's freezing again the program for a few minutes.
Unfortunately that file is one of the most important ones to be translated, so I need to resolve that somehow.

I'm using build 330.

Thanks in advcance,
Hajo

This is weird... However I think up two potential reasons:
  • Your source contains javascripts and maybe your protection software (firewall, anti-virus, Internet security suite) block it, because Sisulizer is not allowed software for using scripts.
  • Sisulizer use IE components for HTML preview. So if scripts are blocked in IE for this site, it could somehow freeze preview window or even whole application (Sisulizer), but this seems to me not very probable.

Really strange, I just deactivated the Firewall but it's freezing again..
Can I exclude JS-lines in the code from being executed in the HTML preview of Sisulizer?

One important question - could you tell me when issue occurs?
- during adding HTML source file to Sisulizer project?
- in HTML preview?

I guess it's either the Facebook-Like or the Google+ Button (from the Addthis-Button-Script).

Yes, only in html-preview. It's occuring when I add the html source (that includes that script that I mentioned) or when I switch from text or source preview to html preview on that file..

My guess is, that there is some timeout in the HTML preview while the JavaScript tries to load from the Internet (addthis.com). Since it works on Janusz system it could be a firewall blocking Sisulizer's web access on your machine.

Since Sisulizer uses the Microsoft Internet control changes in the IE settings might be worth a shot as well.

As i mentioned in my post above Sisulizer use IE components for HTML preview. When you try execute Javascript directly in IE browser, IE displays pop-up message, where you block or allow script, but HTML preview in Sisulizer based on IE components can't display this pop-up. You could use following solutions:
- Change browser settings directly in IE.
- Open source or output HTML file in IE browser, and allow on scripts in pop-up.
Next open Sisulizer and check if HTML preview works properly for you.

Best regards,
Janusz

Hi Markus,

the firewall is deactivated now and I couldn't find anything special in the IE settings..
Still the same issue, so I'm clueless.
I will take the file home to my Laptop and see if the same issue occurs.

Hajo

Oh, yes, IE freezes as well when I drag and drop the file in it - but no Pop-up appears.. I'll continue checking.

IE displays this pop-up only when it doesn't know what to do. When you already blocked scripts or use restrictive settings in IE, IE doesn't display this message. Please, review IE settings and optionally change it to less restrictive.

Well, same issue on my laptop at home.
But I understood it's not a Sisulizer bug, so I will try to find out the problem with IE.
I already set all restrictions to the lowest settings though - same thing..

Last question: Did you open the file I uploaded locally or over the web? I read that IE crashes with various JS when the html is opened from a local device.
