Use XLIFF (or Excel format) to exchange data with Trados. You find it under File - Export.

Can I only create an xliff from only a source document, so that vendor imports the source , translates it and then exports the bilingual xliff? I believe XLIFF is only bilingual

Use the exchange wizard. It should help you.

All export formats are bilingual since you need the original language.
You need the original as source plus a target language at minimum.

Info: If you exchange data by XLIFF or XLS to a third party tool you will loose the abilty to use Sisulzer's WYSIWYG.
