I'm doing some testing with SisuLizer to see if we can use this program to localize our applications, and I have found 2 problems:

1.- When I create a new localization project from a visual studio 2005 .sln solution file SisuLizer detects that some forms and resource files have translations aviable and ask me if I want to import these files. When I say yes SisuLizer imports with no problems the localization for the forms, but the resource files are not correctly loaded.

An example:
Whe have a resource file called form1_strings.resx that contains some text
Whe hace a resource file called form1_strings.es-ES.resx that contains the same text in spanish.

SisuLizer detects the es-ES file and ask if I want to import the file, but no matter what I answer, Sizulizer do not import the text in the es-ES file.

2.- When I try to write some text in spanish the keyboard is not properly configured and I am not able to enter spaces, or some non english characters.

Can you please help me with this?, thanks so much.

Hi

1)

Can you send me the original .resx and Spannish .resx to
support (at) sisulizer.fi

2)

Right click on the translation sheet and choose Sheet properties. Check the two top most check boxes. See the screenshot.

Regards,

Jaakko

Hi,

I tried your files and Sisulizer imported the existing Spanish translations just fine. What is Sisulizer version that you use?

Hi, I tried with diferent projects and obtained some strange results, with some projects the language files are correctly imported, but with others there are not, and I amb not capable of find an explanation.

I actually updated to Sisulizer 1.5.7 and I am having the same problem with the project I am trying to import.

I detected that the only files that fail are the ones I added to the VS 2005 project by adding a resource file that contains only some strings I want to keep apart.

If you want I can send you the project I amb having problems with.

When you run Project Wizard do you select

1) Visual Studio project file

2) Visual Studio solution file

3) Single or multiple .resx file(s)

I select the visual studio .sln (solution) file. This worked with the other projects I tried.

Hi Raistlin,

can you please send the solution file (.sln) and the project files (.csproj) it contains to

support (at) sisulizer.fi

so we can take a deeper look into it.

Best

Markus

Sorry to say I'm getting the same problem.

VS2005 - Sisulizer 1.5.4

Translated new project (based upon solution file) into French, ran build in Sisulizer then rebuilt in VS and all translations available (both resx files and dlls).

Made some new changes to the VS solution and created new Sisulizer project as before (opting to import existing translations). Some 51% of the available translations are now missing.

Would like to be notified when solution found.

Keep up the good work...

I found the problem. When the project was a VB project Sisulizer failed to import resource strings (those that do not belong to forms). I fixed this in 1.5.9

Ian. I saw that you use C#. Is thist true or was it a VB project that you tried to import.

Best regards,
Jaakko

Mine is a C# solution.

Of the 40 odd dialogs/forms in the project the 1st (About box), the 17th (MainForm) and 18th (A general configuration dialog) retain their translations the others are lost.

I also have string resources (resx files) generated by Martin Granell's 'String resource tool' which are imported without problem.

On a slightly different tack, when I run build within Sisulizer the resultant resx files for the translations don't include items where the text hasn't changed from the original English.

When the project is imported again these get re-marked as 'Not translated', I now don't know if they have been/should be translated.

Is there an option to force all items to be included in the resultant (build) translated resx files?

Many thanks for your assistance.

Ian

Is there any pattern here? Does Sisulizer import some of the strings or none?

Can you send me a sample form that Sisulizer can not import (original .resx and transalted .resx) to

support (at) sisulizer.fi

Having looked again only 4 of the forms get imported correctly (with existing French translations) and all of these are in the root directory of the C# solution.

All the other forms (which are imported minus the existing French translations) are in sub-directories of the C# solution.

Seems like a place to start?

Ian

Yes.

Do you mean that they are sub directories of the solution (.sln) or sub directories of the project (.csproj) or both?

I fixed this in 1.5.10. The new version will come out next week.

Hi,

As a side bar to this topic I posed the question:

Is there an option to force all items to be included in the resultant (build) translated resx files?

And you replied that this will be going in the next build. I've downloaded 1.5.11, is it included in this build?

Is it an option I need to turn on?

Things like OK and dB and OSHA appear gray in the translated column but don't  get written to the resx files during the build (I checked the basic resx code in a text editor).

Hope you can help?

Ian

Yes there is.

- Right click the project file in the project tree and choose properties.
- Choose options sheet and check All radio button

This makes Sisulizer to include all items to the localized resx files.

This feature is in 1.5.11
