We often need to disable a complete form in a specifig language.
We also need a feature to store this setting in the project file.

Michael

Hi Michael,

Sisulizer does not change the logic of your code. Removing a dialog from localization does not mean to remove it from being displayed in your app. You need to add this logic to your app yourself.

Hope this helps

Markus

This feature is already on our TODO list, but we can't promise implement it in near future, because our R&D is very busy with implement long queue other requests.

Best regards,
Janusz

I've some trick for you:
Usually developers create special, exchange packages via Exchange Wizard ("File" menu -> "Exchange"). Here, in "Exchange Wizard - Languages and Items" you can disable specified form stringtable, etc. from package sent to translator by double click on selected item in tree. Look on attached screenshot.
Note:
If you would like disable diiferent items for different languages, you need for each language run Exchange Wizard, because excluding of items is valid for all languages included to package.

Best regards.
Janusz

Unfortunately, current build doesn't save those settings, so you need manually set it when you generate package for your translator.

Best,
Janusz

I again,

is it possible to disable a form per language in the current Version (4)? We use the version 2010 and can update if possible. To disable the Form in the export is not an option for us, because this setting is not stored.

Thanks for Info

No, current build haven't implemented it. Anyway, I'll ask our CTO about this.

Best regards,
Janusz

Janusz, thank you for the reply.

I am wondering that this feature is not required by others.
We have a lot of stuff here, that is only important and neccessary for a specific locale. The Translators often ask "must translate this (form)"?
This is not fine for us and the translators.

Michael

Hi Michael,

We'll ask our R&D for a "Do not Translate" on column (language) base. Would that help?

To my knowledge it is very hard to build only a part of a resource, since Sisulizer uses the original as a blueprint. This way it does not care for the logic. It is complicated enough to set all pointers in the headers correctly because of different string lenght. Adding some flag to the cell also means an extended file format. But while SLP is XML based it should be possible.

Right now you can use <Right click into the cell> - Translation - Comment to set a "Do not Translate" comment to the cell. Since Sisulizer shows a tiny red corner in that cell you could make the convention with your translators to not translate these cells. Not a pefect solution...

Markus

ok,

i think the feature should work not much different to the existing "not translate" or "excluded" tool in the project tree (left). We need a new feature like "not to translate in language x,y,z". If it set for language x, there is no translation neccesary for x and the node. If the information "do not translate in xyz" is stored in the "form - node", all is fine.
I cant see, if this feature is needed for an item like a "single text". But may be this is the same for sisulizer...

Thanks, Michael

Hi Michael,

The problem is to make it easy "usable" for translators. It might be easier to implement to select multilple rows in a column and set that flag to these. If you click on a node an extra dislog is needed.

However, since I don't know the source code only our R&D can decide what is possible. We already informed them about such request. The often surprise us with excellent ideas :-)

I've seen an implementation of this in a beta, but it did not fully work jet - I miss this feature a lot, too. Any plans to get further on here?
