Is there a project option to prevent Sisulizer to build language ressource for some languages for a particular source?
Our product contains some some files that are only delivered in some languages - they don't need translation in the other languages and - of course - don't need ressource files for these.
Therefore, I'd like to mark them as beeing exkluded for these languages.

Is that possible?

Closely related is the question, how to set up a particular file, that is delivered in two languages, one for Germany and English for all other countries - is there a way to do that? Of  course, this file needs to be included in in the SLP-project for our to-English translator only, but it has to be delivered (generated with English content) for all languages. (I have been setting the language to "copy English" for all other languages, but I fear, this will on one hand affect current translation only and on the other not exclude the file from the other translators SLP-project).

Any help appreciated!
Kind regards, Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The easiest way to do that is to use SLMake. After the call of SLMake you can use commands in your batch file to e.g. delete output files not needed. That makes it more flexible and you can fine tune the process as detailed as you need or want.

Thank you, Markus,

so there's no way to prevent this in advance by project settings?

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

If there is a way I'm not aware of. To make sure I'll ask our R&D.

You can select languages to build via "Project" menu -> "Build..." dialog (look on attached screenshot). Here is article about build feature: http://www.the-localization-tool.com/how-i-can-create-localized-versions-of-my-files/
If you would like use SlMake for build selected languages only, please use -lang parameter: http://www.the-localization-tool.com/using-of-slmake-tool-create-task/

Best regards,
Janusz

Thank you both! But, Janusz, I would like the choice to be persistent - as far as I can see, this has to be chosen every time...

I'll check slmake, though.

Kind regards, Thomas

Maybe, someone reads this old thread and wonders about the solution: Sisulizer now has the option to exclude any source in one or the other language: Right click in project tree...

Has this feature been develloped any further? I'd like to make use of it in real projects...
