Dear Sisulizer team,

as the attached screenshot shows, for some of our VCL sources, display font in forms get enlarged in some languages.

The screenshot shows four instances of Sisulizer, displaying the same file.
Upper left and lower left show module "AWConfig": Here, Hungarian display size matches English display size of font (which matches original German in all cases).
Upper right and lower right show module ACSetup, where Hungarian displays larger font size (as Czech, Polish and Romain do, while English, Estonian, Russian, Lativian and Dutch don't).

The difference seems to be per source: In some sources, all forms behave this way, in others none (as far as I could find out).

I checked the source's properties in Sisulizer as well as in XML code, but could not find any significant difference.

What am I missing?

Thank you for any hints!

Greetings, Thomas

Hello Thomas,

Could you send to us your SLP and optionally example binary source e.g. ACSetup.exe via Private Upload form? We'll check this.

BTW:
You can compare source and output form directly in the Sisulizer, if you would like find differences. Right click on selected form and go in the context menu to "Show as Text" -> "Compare". Before comparing you need build output file in specified language.

Best regards,
Janusz

Hello,

On my machine (Windows 10) Hungarian strings in the TFMINSTALL form are displayed correctly (use this same font size like English). There is no custom font settings in your SLP for Hungarian language. This is weird, but all incorrectly displayed languages mentioned in your post use this same Windows 1250 code page on old Windows versions). Seems to me that this rendering issue could be somehow related to your OS. I'll ask our developer about this.

Best regards,
Janusz

Thank you Janusz, I'm really curious about a solution - strange, that the problems shows up in one binary but not in the other... The machine used is Windows 7 64 with German settings.

Checking it on a German Windows 10, the problem shows up as described - therefore, it's not a "Windows 7 or below"-problem.

Hi Thomas,

I reproduced this finally, when I tested your SLP second time. We'll need investigate it deeper. I' ask Ilkka about this. He is VCL expert.

Now I found why I couldn't reproduce it first time. On my Polish Windows, Hungarian, Czech Polish fonts are matched with English and German fonts, but Latvian, Russian and Estonian fonts are smaller.

Hi Janusz,

what would that mean in my case? Do you see a solution or me?

Could you still private upload your SLP files of AWConfig and ACSetup modules please. Those which are shown of your first post.

EDIT: NO NEED TO UPLOAD.

You had already sent those.

Ilkka

Yes, my mistake. The SLP files were in the third Zip.file.

The fonts are different sizes because Hungarian uses different charset than English and German. You should design your controls in original form large enough that there would be enough room for all languages.

I also added a new option that prevent using charsets. That will be in the next build.

regards,
Ilkka
