We have 2 languages

fr
fr-CH (Swiss french)

When I build the swiss french project it includes all french terms as well as the swiss french terms. I expected it to just build a very small file with the swiss french terms then allow the framework to fall back naturally

We have very few swiss french terms and many many resource files. I don't want to include 700+ fr-CH resx files that have identical text.

Is there a way to change this behaviour and get it to just compile the differences

Many Thanks

Hi Tim,

please check Project - Edit source - <your source> - Options - Items that localize items contain

If you use the default option "Translated" then Sisulizer will only include rows that have a translation. Leave the other rows in the sheet empty (clear).

If your original language in your sources is French you can also use "Different" (while I guess it is english, so Translated above is your best option).

Hope this helps

Markus

Hi Marcus

Many thanks for the comment. Unfortunately default option "Translated" is selected and the fr-CH files still contain all the fr text. Most of the fr-CH rows have a status of "Not Translated". Have you any other ideas

Many Thanks

Hi Tim,

Sisulizer is organized in a way that it comes with the strings needed by the platform for a safe fallback.

I'm not a developer but I would expect that the platforms have a fallback to the original language and not to some other target language. The reason is, that the original language is always loaded by default and is always available. Other languages are loaded if needed. I would not expect, that the platform first overloads target language one and then overloads that with language two. But I'll ask our R&D about that since it even may differ between platforms.

Markus
