We use German as our base language in our projects. However, if we use third-party components (e.g. DevExpress), its base language is English.

What is the recommended approach how to handle this? (From my perspective, it would be desirable to be able to use different base languages for different components, but this is currently not possible)

Hi,

Simply add German as another target labguage. Only translate the English strings. The other strings will use the fallback to original at runtime. So you don`t waste space or have duplicate strings.

Once you have the English resources you might want to implent them as your original in your Delphi project. Don`t forget to copy all German strings to a new slp first (in contrast to my recommendation above).
